Please Quit Doing This - How Do You Think This is Good?

As someone who has worked in podcasting 20 years, I try to be merciful when I hear a new show. You’re cutting your teeth, finding your voice, etc. I get it.

However, I might burst into tears if I click play and make it to an interview where yet again someone reads (poorly) the guest’s LinkedIn Bio. There are nine items listed on this sheet, and only one is slightly related to this show.

If you’re not excited about the content, it really, really shows.

Don’t read it to me; tell me why you are excited to talk to this person. Reading a bio to your audience is about as entertaining as watching grass grow.

One way to grow your audience is to keep the people you have already attracted.
